Function and Scope

The HDM Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervision and operational support of

assigned HDM site coordinators to ensure the safe and efficient operation of assigned

distribution sites including volunteer support of delivery routes, fully operating and functional

mobile meal devices, and proper temperature and food quality documentation.

Primary Responsibility And Duties

• Plans, directs, and monitors routing for all assigned facilities to ensure proper route coverage, ensuring all delivery routes are covered; communicates changes to necessary staff.
• Works with Client Engagement leadership to cyclically evaluate and adjust HDM route loading, balance, and geographic boundaries to ensure effective site operations and maximize volunteer impact and satisfaction.
• Establish weekly strategy, workflow and with Site Coordinators to review volunteer concerns regarding routing.
• Provide daily new client updates to HDM Supervisors and Central Distribution Team to ensure correct routing sequence and balance.
• Bi-Weekly evaluate route boundaries so that all routes are balanced using clients and mileage as metrics.
• Lead weekly meetings with Distribution and HDM teams to review routing and make recommendations for changes, as needed.
• Partner with the kitchen regarding pack and departure times to establish efficient routing between Central Distribution and Sites.
• Work closely with SVP, Operations to review driver's actual vs scheduled hours to maintain efficient delivery routing
  
  

Secondary Responsibilities And Duties

• Serve as a backup for other HDM Supervisor when they are out on paid leave or illness.
• Seeks input from Site Supervisors and Site Coordinators proactively to design routes that are reasonable and create a positive MOWCM experience for the volunteers.
• Works collaboratively with Distribution, Volunteer Services, and Home Delivered Meal program staff to ensure resolution routing problems, and the continued support of excellent, prompt, responsive, services.
• Protects the confidentiality and integrity of Protected Health Information (PHI) according to Meals on Wheels' relevant policies and procedures, and views, alters, retrieves, and stores PHI using company-defined, secure methods consistent with the appropriate and required tasks.
  
  

Additional Responsibilities And Duties

• Attends and fully participates in all staff meetings and other meetings as required/directed.
• Assists with and attends special events held by Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland, as necessary.
• Upholds the vision, mission, and values of Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland.
• Other duties as requested by supervisor.
  
  

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Strong organizational skills.
• Capability to work in data bases and routing software; familiarity with ServTraker/CXM preferred
• Ability to read maps in manually and electronically.
• Understanding of both distribution and operations.
• Knowledge of basic social services principles, including the importance of procedures related to maintaining confidentiality; maintaining appropriate client and volunteer boundaries.
• Strong leadership skills with ability and determination to work independently as well as collaboratively to solve problems, seek solutions, and make decisions.
• Ability to work well with staff as well as volunteers.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from a wide variety of ethnic, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, and/or 2-3 years related work experience.
• Current Maryland driver's license.
• Dependable licensed and insured vehicle.

Salary: $42000 - $45500 per year
