Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Nurse Teacher to deliver engaging and practical medical-related elective courses to middle school students. As an integral part of our team, the Nurse Teacher will inspire curiosity about the healthcare field, provide students with foundational medical knowledge, and foster a culture of health and wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver elective medical courses tailored to middle school students, introducing them to healthcare concepts and careers.
Develop hands-on, real-world learning experiences that align with MPARI’s mission of providing actual work-related education.
Collaborate with staff to integrate medical themes into the broader school curriculum when appropriate.
Serve as a mentor during the daily Personal Learning Time, supporting students’ academic and personal growth.
Participate in professional development and contribute to school-wide initiatives aimed at student empowerment and success.
Maintain compliance with all state and school regulations regarding health education and classroom instruction.
Qualifications:
Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Rhode Island, with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) certification as a Nurse Teacher, or eligibility to obtain certification before the position start date.
Experience working with middle or high school students in an educational or clinical setting is highly desirable.
Passion for teaching and inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
