Job Title: Bill Review Team Lead Level 1

General Description:
Manage day-to-day operations of the medical bill review process support team to ensure SOPs are being followed and staff is aligned appropriately for the workload as defined in our clients’ SLAs.
Job duties:
- Manage day-to-day workflow of the medical bill process support team to ensure the processes are being followed and timelines are met
- Make decisions to document handling based on carrier specific criteria
- Develop and maintain roles & responsibilities and manage staff in the confines of those
- Manage staff overall effectiveness and performance (e.g. perform random sampling of bills for each user to ensure quality of the product)
- Develop and maintain SOPs and meet with staff regularly
- Provide department stats and observations monthly to management
- Perform regular trend analyses of staff and processes and suggest process and system improvements
- Ability to travel; if needed
- Other job duties as assigned
Qualification:
Required:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills; detail oriented, the ability to think big picture/strategically
- Quick learner: help manage change
- Process and task oriented, ability to manage multiple workflow processes
- Medical coding experience – medical bill documents
- Strong leadership skills; minimum 2 years leadership experience
- Computer savvy and previous experience using Microsoft Office Products
Preferred:
- Previous experience with medical bills
- Previous experience managing documents and workflows
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent experience
