Job Description -
Our client, a startup laboratory, is seeking a Senior Chemist in Flow Cytometry to drive their analytical capabilities forward. This role offers the chance to lead method development and operations in a cutting-edge lab environment focused on food. You will work with advanced instrumentation such as LC/MS, GC/MS, and flow cytometry systems, and collaborate closely with the Lab Director to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
Responsibilities & duties -
- Develop and execute analytical methods for pesticides, phthalates, glyphosate, PFAS, botanicals, and related tests.
- Lead and manage LC/MS and GC/MS operations, with support for ICP-MS and wet chemistry techniques.
- Mentor and manage lab technicians.
- Design workflows to maximize throughput and implement automation solutions.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments, ensuring optimal performance.
- Ensure regulatory compliance (ISO, FDA, USDA).
- Collaborate across departments to streamline operations.
- Maintain a safe, efficient, and high-performing laboratory environment.
Qualifications -
- Experience in flow cytometry is required.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field
- 3 years of laboratory experience in high-throughput analytical settings
- Strong background in method development for pesticides, phthalates, glyphosate, PFAS, or botanicals.
- Experience in food testing preferred but not required
- Expertise with LC/MS and GC/MS; familiarity with ICP-MS a plus.
- ISO standards and other regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in LIMS and QMS tools, particularly QBench.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage lab technicians
