The Landscape Division Estimator will analyze project costs for landscaping projects. Responsibilities encompass evaluating design plans, calculating labor and material costs, and preparing detailed reports. Tasks include site visits, data analysis, and liaising with suppliers and contractors.
Responsibilities
Provides direct support to the Landscape Operations Manager including:
- Conduct site visits to assess the scope of work and gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
- Prepare timely estimates and proposals for seasonal landscape maintenance.
- Prepare detailed and accurate estimates and proposals for landscape projects, including timelines and project schedules.
- Analyze project requirements and specifications to determine labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor costs.
- Provide ongoing budget tracking reports for season programs.
- Provide profitability reports for completed seasonal programs, projects and bid work.
- Produce estimates by way of plan take-offs, online measuring tools, site visits, and utilizing in-house estimating tools and programs.
- Maintain records of all estimates, proposals, and project information to ensure accurate and up-to-date reporting.
- Continuously assess and improve estimating processes and procedures to increase accuracy and efficiency.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with customers, contractors, and team members
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Strong mathematical skills to accurately calculate cost estimates for landscape projects
- Proficiency in using computer software and applications related to landscape estimating
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and other technical drawings
Experience/Education Requirements
- Knowledge of local and national regulations related to landscape construction and design
- 2-4 year degree in Landscape Contracting, or related degree
- 4 years’ landscape industry experience is essential
- Knowledge of plants, turf, landscape design, hardscape, irrigation systems and related construction is desirable
