Overview Reporting to the Permit Manager, the Permit Coordinator II will oversee the submittal and tracking of applications in a telecommunications environment, including DOT permits, railroad permits, municipal permits, and power pole permits. The incumbent will assume a lead role in developing and updating permit application status information in the customer's and the company's databases. The Permit Coordinator II must be a highly organized individual who communicates professionally, reliably, and effectively with little or no direction.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assemble, complete, and submit permit applications to the appropriate permitting authorities.
- Coordinate closely with Permit Drafters to ensure permit application packages are complete.
- Provide complete drafting services for assigned permits.
- Provide QA/QC reviews for permit applications as requested.
- Work closely with the Permit Manager, Project Manager, or other executives to address special needs for permit application packages.
- Track the status of permit applications regularly and maintain status reports for all assigned permits.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, and permitting authorities.
- Ensure the timely rendering of permit application fees.
- Ensures that all project-related communications, data, correspondences, and related items route through the assigned Project Manager.
- Understands, processes, and transmits project-related data according to established procedures and guidelines.
- Balances attention to detail with the overall timeline for completion of work.
- Checks accuracy of work and follows established quality control procedures.
- Works independently to identify and resolve permit-related problems.
- Identifies and reports process and data quality issues to their supervisor.
- Updates progress sheets, complete documentation to support quality assurance procedures, and tracks daily activities.
- All other related activities.
Education, Skills, and Qualifications
- Strong computer skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A Bachelor's or Associate's degree is preferred but not required.
- Previous project management experience is required.
- Previous experience with telecommunications-related permitting is required.
- 3 years of permit development experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and working in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar programs required.
- Strong independent leadership, critical thinking, communication, accountability, analytical thinking, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
Additional Requirements
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
- Must pass a drug screening.
- This job requires sitting and working in front of monitors for extended periods.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $36,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
