Security Compliance Specialist

Seeking a highly qualified and experienced Security Compliance Specialist to manage the ongoing Authority to Operate (ATO) and continuous monitoring of NIST 800-53 security controls within a Federal government environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information security, risk management, and maintaining compliance with evolving Federal regulations within a large Federal IT environment. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure the security and integrity of IT systems and data.

Required Skills/Level Of Experience

• Experience overseeing the process of obtaining and maintaining ATO for IT systems (5 years)
• Experience including developing and updating security documentation (System Security Plans, Program Level Security Policies/Procedures, and Plan of Action and Milestones) to remain current with an evolving application environment. (5 years)
• Proactive coordination with system owners, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure security controls are met. (5 years)
• Experience tailoring, implementing, and continuously monitoring NIST 800-53 security controls in large Federal government environments.
• Experience developing and implement a continuous monitoring strategy to maintain an ongoing awareness of information security, vulnerabilities, and threats. (5 years)
• Experience applying and assessing NIST 800-53 security controls within AWS environments (2 years)
• Experience working as part of an Agile team (2 years)
• Possession or ability to obtain and maintain the required a favorably adjudicated DHS Public Trust background investigation.
