    Salary Structure: $30.00 per hour

    Position Contract: Temporary Part-Time, Non-Exempt, 20 - 25 days, 7 hours per day

    General Description:
    Metro Technology Centers is accepting applications for a Camp Instructor, Certified who will be responsible for education and supervision of the students in his/her charge by facilitating engaging and educational experiences for camp participants, helping students explore various career paths and gain insights into potential future professions, and developing and implementing curriculum, leading hands-on activities, and fostering a positive learning environment. The summer camp, which is known as Tech Trek, will be Monday through Friday during the month of June.

    General Qualification Requirements:

    Education/Experience:
    • Required - Valid Oklahoma teaching certification.
    • At least three (3) years of teaching experience in the classroom.
    • Experience teaching STEAM or CTE curriculum.
    • Preferred - Evidence of leadership experience and skills, such as supervisor, lead teacher, CTSO advisor or officer, awards, recognitions, etc.

    (Above requirements may be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)


    Representative Duties:
    • Supervises classroom and ensures campers safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general wellbeing.
    • Attends required orientation and training sessions made available prior to summer camp start date to ensure expectations are understood and followed.
    • Plans, prepares, and delivers instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences in the classroom or laboratory/shop that engages students aged 10-14 for a week of summer camp.
    • Establishes clear objectives for all lessons and/or projects and communicates those objectives to students.
    • Studies material and prepares for classes with necessary curriculum, supplies and/or equipment. Ensures content and skills align with program standards.
    • Instructs and monitors students in the use of learning materials, equipment and technology.
    • Observes and evaluates student progress and/or performance in all educational settings.
    • Encourages and monitors the progress of individual students by providing feedback.
    • Maintains student discipline in the classroom and laboratory/shop.
    • Provides support, encouragement and advisement to students with academic challenges.
    • Communicates effectively to students, colleagues, administration and parents (if applicable) regarding student outcomes and/or student needs.
    • Maintains individual program inventory of items.
    • Demonstrates, encourages and maintains safe conditions throughout the shop and classroom areas, cooperating fully with the District and campus safety committees and appropriate authorities.
    • Upholds the policies and procedures of the Board of Education and supports the organizational management philosophy of the District.? Works cooperatively and in harmony with co-workers and other District employees.
    • Demonstrates dedication to working with students in an objective and fair manner regardless of handicap, race, sex, national origin, age, or socio-economic background, refraining absolutely and entirely from sexual harassment and exploitation; follows the standards of conduct and performance as adopted by the State Board of Education.
    • Demonstrates the ability to read, speak clearly and deliver presentations; ability to operate instructional equipment; and ability to move around the classroom.
    • Performs related duties as assigned.
