Metropolitan Companies is looking for a Construction Project Manager to join our team! The Construction Project Manager will plan and supervise multifamily apartment complex projects for our Haverford Square by Metropolitan division. The person in this role will organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct construction projects from contract execution through close-out
- Identify and rectify scheduling challenges to meet project deliverables
- Meet contractual conditions of performance
- Manage scope, schedule and cost changes throughout the course of construction
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
- Identify, analyze and mitigate risks
- Monitor compliance, safety and quality construction standards
- Track projected and actual gross profit margin of active projects and prepare reports pertaining to job status
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
- Communicate with stakeholders to set and maintain client expectations
- Conduct site visits and progress meetings
- Setup and meet Philadelphia code inspector for progress inspections.
Competencies:
- Well versed in all construction methodologies and Philadelphia procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve best results
- Possess analytical mind and great organizational skills
- Proven work experience in construction management and an understanding of all facets of the construction process, details, means and methods
- Familiarity with construction management software packages
- Ability to think “big” picture
- Competent in conflict and crisis management
- Ability to lead the construction team
- Excellent communication, time and project management skills
Requirements:
- HS diploma or GED
- 5 years’ experience in multifamily or commercial construction project management
- Proficiency with Microsoft office
- Ability to read blueprints
- Experience with RFIs and submittals
- Ability to travel to job sites as needed
Preferred:
- BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field
