What are the responsibilities and job description for the Earthwork Construction Manager/ General Superintendent position at Meyer Contracting?
Meyer Contracting Inc., is seeking qualified applicants for a Earthwork Construction Manager to join our team. Team Meyer is a Highway/Heavy contractor based out of Maple Grove, MN who performs Earthwork, Underground Utilities, Demolition, Concrete Structures and Foundations operations primarily in the greater Midwest area. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Managing multiple earthwork projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project schedules and budgets
- Actively participating in pre-construction meetings to review project plans, identify potential challenges, and develop effective construction strategies
- Prioritizing safety by conducting daily safety audits and enforcing safety protocols on all job sites
- Overseeing earthwork field operations, including equipment utilization, material management, and labor allocation
- Proactively identify and address equipment and labor needs on job sites in coordination with the Director of Construction
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including timecards, production quantities, and project reports
- Leading and mentoring field staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
Candidate Profile:
- Strong understanding of earthwork construction, equipment operation, and mechanical principles
- Ability to accurately interpret complex construction plans and blueprints
- Proven ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment
- Effective leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate and manage teams
- Independent and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Willingness to travel to job sites throughout the Upper Midwest
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in earthwork construction supervision
- Proficiency in construction management software, HCSS experience a plus
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check for access to restricted project sites
- Must be a team player who can contribute to a collaborative work environment
What We Offer:
Salary range $130,000 - $165,000.
