Laundry Attendant

Laundry Attendant- AM/ PM Shift Marriott Stamford Hotel & Spa   Position reports to Director of Housekeeping or Manager Housekeeping    CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Perform laundry cleaning activities in accordance with Marriott Stamford Hotel & Spa laundry safety standards, while ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction.  Qualifications: This position requires strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally or in written form. Must be able to read machinery instructions, follow information and ideas clearly. Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative work in the Laundry quickly and accurately. Must work well in stressful high pressure situations in the Laundry   Responsibilities: Comply at all times with Marriott Stamford Hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient laundry operations. Sort, count, and pre-treat soiled linen in preparation for laundering. Load and unload washers and dryers. Maintain equipment as trained. Fold, store and distribute towels and linens. Practice safe work habits and wear protective safety equipment.  Assist with other housekeeping tasks in the event of staffing shortages. Maintain clean work area. Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction. Perform other duties as requested by management.   Work Environment and Context: Work schedule variation and may include working on holidays, weekends, or alternate shifts. Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, pulling bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, reaching, kneeling and bending. Operate heavy machinery and use cleaning chemicals.   Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; and complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all associates and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of all. Ensure adhe
