Aspire Coordinator

 
General Description:  The Aspire Coordinator will report to the Aspire Supervisor.  The Aspire Coordinator will assist in providing high-quality, basic educational services to empower students in acquiring skills for success in postsecondary education/training and employment, to earn a living wage, and to be contributing members of society. This position will perform in a manner to ensure the best possible education for students of the Miami Valley Career Technology Center.
 
Qualifications:

1. Must meet all requirements governing teacher education and licensure
2. Must hold or qualify for certification in the instructional program
3. Must possess an interest in preparing adults for a High School Equivalency, employment or post-secondary enrollment
4. Possess in-depth knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment. An understanding of program budgeting is preferred.
5. Ability to plan and implement lessons based on program and school objectives
6. Ability to move about in the classroom/lab to check student work and monitor behavior
7. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with teachers, students, and peers
8. The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
9. Possess excellent human relations skills and serve as a role model for teachers and students
10. Ability to make off-school visits to monitor satellite Aspire locations or confer with outside agencies as required
11. Ability to work with business and professional groups, organizations, as appropriate

 
Length of Contract:              185 days and any applicable extended service days
 
Salary:                                    Per teacher salary schedule
