We seek a Project Controller for one of Florida's leading real estate and land developers! This full time opportunity will take ownership of individual construction projects, manage the accounting cycle for each property. This company is reshaping cities across Florida by planning vibrant mixed-use communities, building luxury residential projects, re-activating marinas, and revitalizing neighborhoods with highly amenitized commercial and residential developments.
This is a full time, onsite opportunity with a downtown Fort Lauderdale company. Hybrid or remote work is not available for this position. Hiring preference will go to local candidates.
Our client seeks candidates that come from a residential or luxury construction background. Ideal candidates will manage the full accounting cycle of multiple ongoing construction companies at any time.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly requisitions and draws to owners and/or banks for funding
- Review contractors pay apps for accuracy
- Ensure project documentation is complete (lien waivers, payment & performance bonds, insurance, contracts)
- Tracking invoices and spend against contracted amounts
- Liaison between project managers and corporate
- Monitor project budgets and understand and communicate overages
- Assist with project forecasts and future cash needs
- Maintain job cost schedules
- Close books for project entities
- Oversee project accounts payable
- Reconcile cash accounts
- Prepare wire payments and checks in conjunction with A/P Specialist
- Assist in preparation of financial statements and financial reporting
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations as needed
- Prepare and maintain other project specific schedules
- Assist with ad hoc financials analysis of new and existing development projects
Qualifications:
- Accounting degree; real estate / development / construction industry experience
- Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software, such as Acumatica, QuickBooks, Yardi, Sage, etc.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Strong desire to learn and grow as the Company continues to grow
- Must work well in a team environment
