Position Summary:
We seek a Senior Director of Compensation to lead a comprehensive, company-wide internal equity study and drive compensation initiatives that ensure fairness, competitiveness, and alignment with the company's business objectives. This key HR role will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and recommending improvements to our compensation structures, with a particular focus on fleet-based roles, including messengers and drivers. The successful candidate will be a compensation expert with experience in logistics, retail, or similar industries, and will work remotely with the flexibility to manage a global portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Internal Equity Study: Lead an immediate company-wide internal equity analysis to evaluate current compensation structures across all roles, ensuring fair pay practices that align with job responsibilities and market rates.
- Compensation Strategy & Design: Develop and implement compensation strategies that support business goals, particularly for fleet-based employees such as drivers and messengers, ensuring competitiveness within the industry.
- Compensation Benchmarking: Conduct regular market analyses to evaluate compensation trends in logistics, retail, and related industries, ensuring salary and benefits packages remain competitive and equitable.
- Recommendations & Action Plans: Provide data-driven recommendations to senior leadership for compensation adjustments, equity improvements, and new incentive programs that support retention and recruitment of talent.
- Job Grading & Salary Structures: Develop, refine, and maintain job grading systems and salary structures for all positions, with a strong emphasis on operational roles within our fleet and global operations.
- Collaboration with HR & Leadership: Work closely with HR leadership, business unit heads, and finance teams to address compensation challenges, implement changes, and communicate strategies.
- Incentive & Reward Programs: Design and manage performance-based incentive programs tailored to the needs of both corporate and fleet-based employees, including bonuses and merit-based pay structures.
- Global Compliance: Ensure all compensation programs are compliant with local labor laws, tax regulations, and industry-specific requirements across various regions.
- HR Leadership Support: Act as a trusted advisor to HR teams by providing insights, training, and guidance on compensation policies, pay transparency and related best practices.
- Compensation Analytics: Use compensation analytics to assess pay structures and predict future needs, ensuring the organization is prepared to scale as it continues to grow globally.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or CCP certification preferred).
- 8 years of experience in compensation management, with a significant focus on global operations, logistics, retail, or fleet-based industries.
- Proven track record of conducting internal equity studies and implementing compensation changes in a large, complex organization.
- Deep expertise in compensation analysis, salary benchmarking, and job grading, particularly in roles involving messengers, drivers, and fleet operations.
- Ability to deliver data-driven recommendations and influence decision-making at the senior leadership level.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across global teams and diverse business units.
- Experience in designing incentive programs and performance-based compensation plans for both frontline and corporate employees.
- Proficiency with compensation tools, HRIS systems, and advanced Excel or data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of global compensation practices and regulatory requirements.
