What are the responsibilities and job description for the Superintendent in a Developing Market position at Mid South Steel?
Midsouth Steel, an industry leader in the Southeastern United States for the fabrication and erection of structural and miscellaneous steel has an immediate need for a Superintendent in our developing territory of and around Nashville, TN.
Candidate would preferably come from a background of construction as a Superintendent or Foreman who has some additional business development and sales experience but is a builder and problem solver at heart. Ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in the steel business with manufacturing and installation experience. Experience working on Multifamily projects as a steel supplier or for a GC/CM managing a DIV 5 Subcontractor is a plus.

Job Duties
Sales
- Establish leads with current and new customers.
- Initiate prequalification process with customer.
- Get foot in door to develop new business while fostering and maintaining relationships with current Florida clients.
Superintending
- Find local Subcontractors in your market to perform your scope of work.
- Assist with installations on our job sites.
- Be available to answer install questions.
- Coordinate Deliveries and install dates with GC/CM Superintendent.
- Perform field measuring where applicable.
- Training subcontractors on installs and safety making sure that the focus on safety is paramount. Schedule deliveries and equipment and ensure subcontractor personnel are on site to receive and inventory deliveries.
- Make sure equipment is returned to rental when the job is completed.
- Managing day-to-day activities of subs including weekly emails communicating with the GC/CM. Maintaining MSI’s plan of activities that are specific to his individual project include Production, Shipping and Installations.
- Daily reports – Complete Daily reports of the day’s travels and activities, Sales Calls, jobsite visits, Etc.
