What are the responsibilities and job description for the Drafting Coordinator position at Midwest Filtration LLC?
Summary:
Prepares clear, complete, accurate detailed drawings from rough or detailed sketches or notes and develops plans for single stage or progressive stage dies for stamping, forming, forging, or extrusion presses by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage incoming quotes from the sales team and draw finished designs from customer renderings for all departments.
Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, to complete operation instructions and draft drawings of dies necessary to form complete forging, stamping or other processes.
Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project. To obtain the best yield of material for all departments.
Identifies manufacturing time per workstation for completed part.
Generates and inputs necessary Bills-of-Material or products which serve as work instructions along with product drawings in all departments.
Generate Method of Manufacturing to drive accurate planning and scheduling in all departments.
Make any adjustments or changes necessary or desired to help production Supervisors with quoting.
Manage all EP conversion needs by partnering with roll media production scheduler.
Assists in planning and scheduling responsibilities as needed.
Ensure department KPI are met or exceeded.

- Actively participates in the Design Process which has been identified as a Key Process
- Assist in Development of any ISO related policies/procedures for your function
- Adhere to Company ISO policies/procedures

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Technical Degree in Engineering preferred. Minimum 5 years of drafting experience

Reasoning Ability:
Individuals must have the ability to make independent decisions that may be of a complex nature.
Computer Skills:
Previous experience working with AutoCAD software. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Excel and Word and affiliated software packages. Individuals must possess the capability to function within the Epicor database application daily.

Individuals must possess interpersonal skills to communicate with coworkers.
Physical Demands/Work Environment: The ability to work in an office environment, which could include sitting or standing for most of the day.
