Operating out of a 130,000ft2 facility currently, with an experienced and proven team as well as a wide range of design and engineering services, Midwest Filtration thrives to provide OEM customers a rapid response and the best solution in the areas of woven and nonwoven media.
The Midwest Filtration Laboratory is responsible for testing materials and products, providing analyses and samples to sales staff and customers, and preparing and maintaining necessary Quality records. The Lab performs physical property (weight, thickness, strength, etc.) and chemical testing on materials and products. The Lab Tech participates in the day-today operation of the laboratory activities. He or she will work closely with other functions to ensure materials and products meet specification.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creation of Defective Material Report (DMRs)
- Disposition of non-conforming product
- Work to update Risk and Continuous Improvement Logs
- Creation of Change Notices
- Completion of Quality Questionnaires
- SOP Review
- Physical property testing (basis weight, thickness, strength, etc.)
- Inspecting incoming materials and verifying conformity to specifications
- Ability to chart and graph data analyses as necessary
- Assisting with quality approvals on the Production floor
- Performing first article and in-process inspections
- Recording and issuing test results through various reporting methods
- Assisting with preparation of material samples for the Sales Department
- Review incoming supplier data as acceptance criteria
- Preparing Certificates of Analysis/Certificates of Conformance
- Maintaining material specifications
- Ability to report and record non-conformances
- Performing floor audits and reporting findings against SOPs
- Collect and issue regulatory and compliance documentation
- Investigate customer complaints including root cause and corrective actions
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Competency: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
- College degree or equivalent preferred
- 2 years laboratory experience in a manufacturing setting
- ERP system experience preferred
- Experience with physical laboratory testing preferred
- Lean manufacturing experience in a fast-growing company
