Job Summary
We are seeking an organized and experienced Shipping Supervisor to oversee our shipping operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our shipping process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products, and optimizing processes to enhance efficiency. This role requires strong team and leadership skills, and the ability to implement process improvements.
Duties
- Supervise daily shipping operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Manage a summer team of shipping personnel, providing training, and guidance.
- Perform quality control checks on orders, referring discrepancies back to the relevant team leads.
- Implement process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency in shipping operations.
- Coordinate with other departments such as warehouse management and distribution center teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Ensure proper handling of heavy lifting tasks and equipment operation, including forklifts, while adhering to safety protocols.
- Monitor shipping schedules and address any issues that may arise during the shipping process.
Experience
- Proven experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management practices and shipping procedures.
- Familiarity with Odoo or similar warehouse management systems is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to identify areas for process improvement within shipping operations.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role while maintaining safety standards.
