Immediate Opening for a Full-time Patient Access Representative
The Patient Access Representatives are responsible for assisting patients obtain excellent medical care provided by Missouri Eye Institute. This includes collecting patient details, explaining policies and procedures, and handling patient questions while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
Strict attention to detail and documentation. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Ability to lift/stretch/bend in providing patient care. Proven ability to work well in a Team-oriented environment. Adherence to HIPAA requirements and company confidentiality and privacy policies. Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Good typing, communication and computer skills.
No weekend or evening hours. Competitive compensation.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years minimum experience in medical practice.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.

- Respectful treatment of patients and co-workers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets everyone in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Tracks patients in the reception and dilation areas and communicates with them, as needed.
- Secures all necessary patient informed consents, privacy notices and insurance authorizations.
- Updates patient demographics, referral and insurance information is up to date and correct.
- Schedules return and new appointments.
- Collects fees for services and previous balances.
- Schedule language interpreters and translators if needed.
- Obtains guardianship information prior to appointment.
- Contacts patients to confirm upcoming appointments and reminds them on options of registration.
- Keeps reception and dilation room area neat and tidy.
- Uses electronic health record system to communicate with referring doctors to ensure referral loop is closed in a timely manner.
- Assists other patient access personnel as needed.
Shift: Monday-Friday 7:45 AM -4:00 PM
