Overview
The Custodian plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within the clinic, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and functionality for administrative and patient care areas. This position is responsible for daily cleaning tasks, minor maintenance duties, and monitoring supplies to support a positive experience for both patients and staff. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and takes pride in contributing to a well-maintained and professional healthcare setting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Dusting, mopping, and vacuuming floors
- Dusting furniture, ledges, pictures and frames
- Sponging all trims, doors, door knobs, door frames, wall marks, flat surfaces, & window sills
- Cleaning countertops, sinks, and any kitchen appliances (microwaves, refrigerators, etc.)
- Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms
- Refilling all paper, soap, and sanitary napkin dispensers
- Emptying all trash baskets and replace liners
- Monitoring restrooms to ensure cleanliness at all times
- Cleaning water fountains and/or coolers
- Cleaning all office equipment (copiers, file cabinets, telephones, etc.)
- Restocking exam rooms as needed (hand sanitizer, hand soap, paper supplies, etc.)
- Sanitizing exam rooms and lab area
- Perform periodic assessment of site to ensure proper maintenance and health & safety (leaks, outlets, etc.)
- Hang posters, picture frames, decorations, promotional banners, etc.
- Perform inventory of supplies and process orders as needed
Qualification/Education
- High School diploma or GED.
- Possess effective oral and written communication skills.
- Upbeat and positive attitude
- Self-starter with ability to work with minimal direction
- Bilingual a plus
