Job Description:
Mobius has an immediate requirement for a Controller to support our Corporate office in Alexandria, VA. This position will play a vital role on the finance team and is accountable for the accounting operations of Mobius and its Joint Venture operation. This includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. The controller is also responsible for enhancing the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Duties include directing and managing the accounting department, compiling financial reports based on financial statements and implementing and/or maintaining policies and procedures for financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
· Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process, including accruals, reconciliations, report preparation and journal entry reviews.
· Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (i.e cash flow statements, income statements etc.) and conduct comprehensive financial analyses to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
· Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor actual performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions as appropriate.
· Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow, managing working capital, and optimize liquidity. Develop forecasting models to enhance financial operations.
· Policies: Maintains and enforces a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
· Internal Controls and Compliance: Establish and maintain effective internal control systems to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies. Ensure adherence to government accounting standards (FAR, CAS)
· Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team. Foster a culture of continuous learning and process improvement.
· Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and serve as a key point of contact for financial inquiries and audits.
Qualification
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial management, with a minimum of 3 years in the DoD industry, with a focus on compliance and DCAA requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related field; advanced degrees (i.e. MBA) and certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and as well as government accounting standards.
- Requires proficiency in financial management software/ERP systems (i.e. Unanet, Costpoint) and advanced Excel skills.
- Understanding of contract types to include Cost Plus, Fixed Price, and Time & Materials as well as varying fee types.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Ability to process and hold confidential, sensitive information.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Experience, Education, Skills & Technologies
- Experience in joint venture operations is a plus
Salary : $130,000 - $150,000
