What are the responsibilities and job description for the AutoCAD Detailer position at MoFab Inc?
Mofab, Inc. is a family owned and operated metals warehouse and fabrication company in Anderson, IN. We are looking for an experienced AutoCAD detailer to assist with producing detailed drawings for our steel processors and fabricators. Main job duties include:
- Create technical shop fabrication and field erection drawings based from architectural and structural drawings and specifications with no supervision.
- On occasion, visit job sites to obtain field dimensions and construction conditions.
- Problem solve with field erectors.
- Work with shop fabricators requiring drawing information assistance.
- Maintain an organized drawing and job file system keeping track of drawings for approval, approved, and in production.
- Communicate with the project contractor via phone and e-mail
Requirements:
- Professional experience preferred, but will consider recent graduates of CAD related programs.
- Strong AutoCAD experience. Drafting or design experience with Structural, Civil, or Architectural types of drafting work with AutoCAD.
- Well organized, self-directed, and detailed oriented with excellent analytical and math skills.
- Ability to read and understand plans and blueprints.
- Experience in detailing aluminum, stainless and carbon steel.
- Design experience.
- Proficient in the ability to create shop drawings in 2D with AutoCAD
- Proficient in the ability to create shop drawings in 3D with additional programs
- Use Adobe to convert DWG to PDF zip files for electronic transfer by e-mail
- Operate MS Office
