Position Title: Compliance Audit Manager, External Section

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for a Compliance Audit Manager, External Section. This section’s primary focus is to ensure contractors and consultants comply with contracts, grants and loans, and federal cost principles when performing work and billing MDT. This position is responsible for performing complex audit and compliance work and supervises multiple engagements. Responsible for consistency and accuracy of final reports and reviews, and ensuring audits are completed in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS), International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA), and International Registration Plan (IRP). Examines and evaluates conformity with state statutes, rules, federal regulations, contract requirements, and other compliance components. This position report to the Chief Auditor and supervises 5 employees.

Required Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4 years of experience in audit, compliance, or related field and 1 year of supervision or team lead experience.
• CPA required
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Knowledge of and skill in applying auditing and accounting principles and practices.
• Collecting and analyzing complex data, evaluating information and systems, and drawing logical conclusions.
• Skills in planning and project management.
