$80-$85K DOE - PLANT ACCOUNTANT
The Accountant is responsible for the preparation of an assigned range of financial data that appears in the company's financial statements. The position requires a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The Accountant must be capable of problem identification and resolution. The position requires excellent attention to detail, understanding the chart of accounts, an ability to read and comprehend general ledger activity, and the ability to utilize a variety of software and productivity tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary to effectively work with employees at all levels. An enthusiasm and ability to embrace new challenges, work with a team to achieve department deliverables and lead by example are key to this role’s success.
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Serve as back up for payroll
- Raw materials and goods inventory tracking
- Prepare daily reports for in house and corporate reporting
- Fixed asset management
- Month end closing tasks
- General ledger account and trial balance analysis
- Periodic government and state tax returns
- Requisition creation and purchase order receipting
- Work with internal and external auditors
- Serve as back up for the AR Clerk
- Provide office support; including answering the phones, greet and direct visitors, sort mail and various other duties
- Assist with the coordination of company events
- Special projects
- All other duties as assigned
Salary : $80,000 - $85,000
