What are the responsibilities and job description for the Extended Care position at Mt Juliet Christian Academy?
Student supervision:Actively monitor students during before and after-school hours, ensuring their safety and appropriate behavior in various settings.
Behavior management:Address disruptive behavior promptly and consistently, utilizing positive reinforcement techniques to maintain a positive group dynamic.
Check-in/check-out procedures:Ensure proper student sign-in and sign-out processes at the beginning and end of each after-school session.
Communication with parents: Regularly update parents on their child's progress, address concerns, and maintain open lines of communication
- Strong interpersonal skills:Ability to build positive relationships with children of diverse backgrounds, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Effective communication:Clear and concise communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Organizational skills:Efficiently manage multiple tasks and maintain a structured program schedule.
- Problem-solving abilities:Address challenges and conflicts among students constructively.
- Adaptability:Flexibility to adjust activities and plans based on student needs and changing situations
- Education:High school diploma required, associate's degree or bachelor's degree in education, child development, or related field preferred.
- Experience:Experience working with children in a group setting, preferably in an after-school program.
- Certifications:CPR and First Aid certification may be required.
- Required:Background check and TBI Fingerprinting clearance to work with children.
