Qualifications & Experience Required
Must hold an engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field.
Minimum 12 years of construction and engineering experience.
The individual must be familiar have experience in the areas of hazard identification and safety compliance. Experience on HZID, etc. must be validated through training. Knowledge of EM 385-1-1 US army safety Manual is a plus.
Job Description
Project Planning & Scheduling:
Develop detailed execution plans, including work schedules, material procurement, and resource allocation for all MEP and fire system works.
Draft, review, and adjust project schedules, identifying milestones and deadlines in alignment with overall project timelines.
Resource Management:
Create a comprehensive resource plan, identifying workforce requirements, equipment, tools, and material needs.
Ensure the availability and proper utilization of resources to meet project demands.
Ensure required certified technicians are employed or contracted to do the work as per specification requirements.
Coordinate with required 3rd party specialist such as but not limited to TAB, Commissioning agent, NETA technicians, QFPE, etc.
Coordination with Other Disciplines:
Collaborate closely with civil, structural, architectural, and finishing teams to ensure that MEP and fire systems are integrated seamlessly with other project scopes.
Coordinate with design teams, architects, and other subcontractors to ensure alignment with project designs and standards.
Execution & Quality Control:
Supervise on-site execution of MEP and fire protection systems, ensuring adherence to project drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
Monitor construction progress, addressing issues, and providing solutions to ensure smooth workflow.
Conduct regular site inspections to verify the quality of work and adherence to applicable regulatory standards (e.g., UFC, NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, IPC, etc.).
Support QCM in the implementation of approved Quality Control Plan
Allow certified third parties to do their work and submit their report objectively.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to MEP and fire protection works.
Enforce safety protocols, addressing hazards to protect workers and site personnel.
Budget & Cost Control:
Track and manage project budgets, controlling expenditures, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
Ensure that MEP and fire work activities remain within financial constraints.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of on-site activities, progress reports, and any changes to the original plans.
Provide regular updates to senior management on project milestones, risks, and solutions.
