What are the responsibilities and job description for the Punch Press Operator II position at MW Components?
Job Summary:
Press Operator II will set up and operate various tonnage punch press machines to produce stamped Belleville washers. They will work to precise tolerances to manufacture Bellevilles within specifications. They will be responsible for making sure machines are working at full capacity, are stocked with materials needed, well-maintained, perform periodic checks on output; while operating machines in a manner that promotes safety and efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety rules and guidelines including but not limited to PPE (safety glasses and hearing protection) and machine guarding.
- Prioritize all work-related activities for production efficiency.
- Feeding material into the machine
- Product inspection using specific measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers and pin gauges to ensure the product meets customer’s specifications.
- Performs machine maintenance and safety checks daily.
- Mechanical aptitude and use of basic hand tools
- Adhere to quality control policies to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications; adjust as necessary.
- Study blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies.
- Visualize and compute dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of assemblies, based on specifications.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to use calipers, micrometer, and pin gauges.
- Ability to read blueprints or work tickets.
- Microsoft office such as Excel for data entry.
- Basic Math (i.e., addition, subtraction, and converting fractions into decimals).
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Standing, pushing, pulling, reaching may be required.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3 years of punch press experience
- Ability to work to close tolerances.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

Salary Range: $26.00 - $30.00/Hour based on experience.
Shift: Full time, 8 hours shifts on 1st or 2nd with flexible shift start time of 6am-8am for 1st and 12:30pm-2:30pm for second.
