NAFI Connecticut | Rhode Island | New York is a dynamic multi-service agency at the forefront of youth and family support across Connecticut, Rhode Island and New York. We are currently exploring candidates for Service Specialist function as a resource and intervention specialist for the LYNC Program . Service Specialists facilitate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and employment readiness (EMPLOY) groups. They also connect program youth and their families to community resources.
The Service Specialist is part of a treatment team that has been designed to provide trauma informed services with respectfulness to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. Inquire about our Sign-on bonus
Primary Responsibilities include :
- Facilitate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy groups and EMPLOY curriculum
- Locate resources (including and not limited to : assistance with basic needs such as housing, utility support, food / clothing assistance, and prosocial activities)
- Connect family to resources and ALL program youth to at least 1 prosocial activity (this includes enrolling and / or taking the youth / family to the resource and developing a plan sustain access to the resource)
- Provide job coaching and supervision for the 6-week summer (DEEP) experiential work program
- Comply with agency and program documentation standards
- Participate in Quality Assurance
- Assist with transportation and other program needs as appropriate
- Knowledge of engagement and motivational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Manage priorities effectively to meet deadlines
- Informed on cultural, gender and trauma responsive approaches to youth and their families
- Participate in required supervision, training and program / agency meetings
- Some evening hours required
