Food Safety and Quality - Entry Position

Quality Assurance

Our boutique ice cream and novelty company is looking for someone who would like to start a career in Quality. If you are organized, careful, and may have a passion for keeping food safe, we can provide training and experience. Our production facility handcrafts hundreds of gallons of fresh gelato each day to sell in various retail outlets including Whole Foods Markets, Mollie Stone's, and Safeway. We also craft other branded ice cream products.

Food safety and good manufacturing principles, laboratory procedures, business process/workflows, knowledge of Google Docs/Google Forms, and/or knowledge of food science is a plus but not necessary. The position includes process management of production including batch sheet generation, BOM management, and production scheduling.

Work hours are primarily Monday - Friday during the day, and are flexible for family times. The position includes at least 20 hours of work a week. Our creamery is located in Hercules.

Gelateria Naia is all about real, good ice cream. We make high-quality, authentic Italian gelato using natural, whole and fresh ingredients from local fruit and nut farms and Bay Area artisan companies like Philz Coffee, TCHO Chocolate, Recchiuti Confections, and more. Our small business started in 2002 with a single store in Berkeley and we have grown to hundreds of accounts across Northern California including Whole Foods Markets. We take care to do everything ourselves as our gelato is churned in small batches daily, tested in our own food safety lab, and distributed by our own delivery fleet; we are passionate about great service, quality, and great product - more than simply the bottom line.
