Regulatory Affairs Technician

Nassau Candy is a premier importer, manufacturer and distributor of specialty confections, fine foods, and promotional products.

We are currently looking for a passionate and well-rounded Regulatory Technician with FOOD experience to join our growing team on site in Hicksville, NY.

This critical role is responsible for the adherence of all labels and packaging to regulatory requirements, with a focus on reviewing and preparing product labels, ensuring that all claims, ingredients, nutritional, and other regulatory information are accurate and in compliance with FDA and international (Canada) laws and regulations.

• Develop nutritional panels and ingredients statements for all new products as well as review and verify nutritional and ingredient information of existing products ensuring data is current and accurate meeting CFR Code of Federal Regulations- Title 21- FDA.
• Support company art department initiatives and requests; review and verify nutritional and ingredient information of existing products ensuring data is current and accurate. Proofread final mechanicals received from the art department prior to print. Work closely with internal departments to ensure that all product labeling and packaging plans adhere to company policy and federal regulations.
• Maintain electronic project folders and account details. Compile data and documents accordingly for the development of individual product specification sheets and raw material specifications as needed.
• Develop product specifications per Nassau Candy policy and specific account guidelines.
• Respond to customer service requests and inquiries regarding labels, ingredients, shelf life, and other related topics.
• Assist Regulatory Affairs, Operations Manager with projects as needed.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, Nutrition, Food Science (preferred)
• Knowledge of CFR Code of Federal Regulations- Title 21- FDA
• Canadian Food Labeling (a plus)
• Highly detail oriented with Superior proofreading, organizational, time management and analytical skills
• Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong numerical and analytical aptitude
• Self- starter with the ability to multi-task in a very fast-paced environment
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word; nutrition software (ESHA/Truswell) a plus
