What are the responsibilities and job description for the Brokerage Settlement Support Representative III - Fidelity Investments (Federal/Government Settlements) position at National Financial Services LLC?
Job Description: The Role You will deliver exemplary service to internal and external clients by the timely and accurate settlement of transactions in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. Assist with reducing the risk associated with failed trades, resolving out of balances with our custodian, and completing the transfer of Government (FED) asset transactions via the FED on behalf of our clients through our clearing agent Bank of NY. The Expertise and Skills You Bring 3 to 6 year Fed/Government Settlements experience required. Bank of NY experience with BDC (Broker dealer clearance) preferred. Monitor high-risk/dollar transactions to ensure instructions are in place at contra parties to avoid settlement interruption and partner directly with various business units to expedite the resolution of aging items. Provide regular status updates to management. Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement with a focus on existing workflow, quality, efficiency, innovation, and policy and procedures. The Team We are a team with expertise in transaction clearing and margin. We perform trade clearance (reconcile trading activity), and coordinate settlements at our depositories (DTC, BNY, Citi) by communicating with other broker-dealers. Transactions settled, both domestic & international, include trades, transfers, stock loans/borrows, repos & DVP/RVP. We resolve settlement fails and mark obligations to current market values. We also ensure that accounts comply with the margin regulations of the SEC, FINRA, & the FRB; calculating required margin, and ensuring timely payment of purchases and margin calls.
