Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Administrative Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of our medical office, ensuring that all administrative tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Duties
- Manage patient scheduling, including appointments and follow-up visits.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
- Perform insurance verification and assist patients with billing inquiries.
- Handle incoming calls and provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
- Assist in the preparation of medical documents and reports as needed.
- Support the medical staff with administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and correspondence.
- Ensure the office environment is organized and welcoming for patients.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in office management or a similar administrative role within a medical setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and coding practices is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Proficient in managing medical records and understanding insurance processes.
- Experience with Athenahealth or similar electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain accurate documentation.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
