What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Safety Coordinator position at Natoli Engineering?
The Manufacturing Safety Coordinator will perform a variety of routine practical and technical work in implementing various components of the health and safety programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Write program for lock out tag out and logs
- Write program for hazardous communication update SDS with training
- Write program machine guarding new equipment
- Write program for Slip, Trip and Fall.
- Perform inspections and incident investigations, conduct routine safety compliance audits, prepare reports, present information to management
- Develop and present training programs for management and staff regarding various health and safety rules and regulations.
- Responsible for risk management activities is necessary to ensure the company maintains a safe work environment for employees.
- Ensure OSHA 300 & 300A log of injuries is maintained.
- Assist in new employee orientation training, development and annual refresher training.
- Attend/lead monthly safety committee meetings
- Coordinate Job Safety Analysis
- Follow good safety work practices and maintain a safe and clean work environment
- To assist supervisors/managers in emergency preparedness

Qualifications and requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Associate’s degree related to the EHS field or equivalent experience
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Knowledge of federal and state environmental, safety and health regulations and laws by OSHA, MSHA,
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff and work well independently or on a team.
- Self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn new procedures and processes.
- Ability to be flexible, work with interruptions and shift priorities as required
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Experience
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment setting
Physical Requirements
- Must have the ability to sit at a desk using a computer for extended periods of time, stand, walk, kneel, and bend as required throughout the day
- Will be involved in identifying and implementing the safety requirements in a manufacturing environment, which could vary in temperature levels, noise and dust exposure, along with exposure to the outdoor elements regarding external building safety.
