Description
Major Food Distributor located in Hunts Point Cooperative Market in the Bronx is looking for a Full-Time Transportation Supervisor. The applicant for this position must be experienced, a team player, with demonstrated ability to motivate staff and successfully promote change through leadership.
- Ensure that all routes are running on time and frequently check in with Drivers to see if assistance is needed
- Report to Customer Service any delays in delivery
- Ensure that all pickups are assigned, and Drivers are aware of completing backhauls when asked
- Communicate issues to management for timely resolution
- Cross train with other supervisors to ensure coverage in all areas
- Ensuring truck maintenance at the end of each shift
- Ensure all Drivers are in compliance with the Nebraskaland uniform requirements
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations (Hours of service)
- Create and distribute On-Time reports
- Conduct a Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspection on vehicles daily
- Provides backup support to Router
Work Environment:
- Must be willing to work a shift from 3AM-11:30AM
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and think outside of the box to find quick resolutions
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, outlook)
- Candidate must be available to work overtime hours, if necessary.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Bilingual (fluent in English & Spanish) a plus
- Experience with Retalix, Extend Data, GPS Tracking system a plus
