Exposure Risk: Candidates understand they may be exposed to the H5N1 virus during the performance of work. Personnel will routinely handle samples that are likely to contain H5N1. Proper use of laboratory safety precautions mitigates exposure risk. However, the candidate acknowledges that some risks may be inevitable.

Essential Duties And Major Responsibilities
- Interpret information provided by the client and validate the information against various spreadsheets and reference materials
- Enter data into a laboratory information management system
- Ensure all data entered is accurate and complete
- Demonstrate safe practices working in a lab environment
- Collaborate closely with Lab Technicians to maintain proper chain of custody
- Ensure that all data entries correspond accurately with the vials
- Package samples for shipment by courier (FedEx) following DOT and other applicable requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Excellent computer skills arerequired including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Microsoft Outlook (these skills will be tested as part of the hiring process)
- One (1) or more years of experience performing clerical functions including the use oflaboratory information management systems (experience as an undergraduate or graduate student may be considered):
- Ability and willingness to be respirator trained and fit-tested
- Flexibility to adjust to the changing needs, conditions, and work responsibilities to achieve successful solutions and results
- Ability to hold information confidential including but not limited to names, locations, sample results, NPINs, and all information accessible through the data system
- Certification in DOT/IATA hazardous materials and dangerous goods shipping and receiving
- Client interaction experience, strong public relations, and customer service skills
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems
- Ability to openly communicate
