What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Services: After School Program Lead position at New Prague Area Schools?
After school hours: 2:45-4pm
Currently looking for help Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from January 13 - March 8.
Note: there are some dates that the program will not be offered due to no school, early release or other school or athletic-related conflicts.
Looking to hire multiple students to help with the program, so it will likely be helping 1-2 days/week typically.
After School Program Leads will provide supervision to our after school programs in the gymnasium. Leads will help get games or activities organized and started. They will ensure the safety and cleanliness of these areas and create a friendly, inviting and inclusive space for students participating in the program.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure a safe environment through constant circulation and supervision of the gym.
- Organize and initiate games or activities with the students.
- Clearly articulate, enforce and educate students on all safety rules, policies and procedures before starting a game or activity.
- Be available to answer questions or to stop activities if rules are not being followed.
- Keep the gymnasium area clean.
- Report any incident of injury or behavior to Fitness and Aquatic Supervisor.
- Provide safety management and emergency response as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, patrons and co-workers.
- Assist with miscellaneous tasks as needed.
After School Program Lead Requirements:
- Ability to lead activities and enforce rules.
- Knowledge of sports and activities, including dodgeball, kickball, basketball, whiffleball, tag games and more.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for students after school.
- 16 years of age or older.
