EVAC Assembler

• Must be open to working 1st or 2nd shift openings; everyone will train on 1st shift
• This is a Union (ASW)- monthly dues just around $70/mo.
• Training hours: Mon - Thur from 5:30AM - 4 PM ( 2nd shift after this)
• Assembling toilets, water panels, waste water tanks, etc. (small and large assembly)
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs
• Starts at $19.50/hr (after 6 months, once "qualified", rate goes up to $21/hr base) 6% shift differential for 2nd shift

This position requires performing routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes for passenger rail car parts in a manual manufacturing assembly line environment. The candidate works in a team environment participating in continuous improvement activities, as well as. Uses pneumatic tools, basic hand tools, and power tools (motorized drill, rivet gun, etc.). The candidate is required to perform versatile duties and is able to organize the areas around their own work place in a self-sufficient manner, within the product group.

Essential Functions

Manufactures quality parts, following specific work instructions

Provides verbal and written status of manufacturing progress

Applies and handles sealants and adhesives

Performs acceptance test procedures utilizing specific test equipment

May train others in manufacturing methods.

Keeps assigned areas organized and clean per set principles

Performs other duties as assigned.

Understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.

Understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.

Understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.

Work Environment:

Required Education and Experience

Education and Experience: High School Diploma, GED, or experience/knowledge as determined by management in a production environment or equivalent business environment

• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, and take the initiative
• Ability to understand and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics/drawings
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes

The base pay rate is $19.50 per hour.
