About The Team:
As the Planner you are primarily responsible for the ongoing procurement and negotiations of materials, components, equipment, supplies and services that meet the quality standards of the company. Assume full responsibility for planning requirements and supply chain management to ensure timely (scheduled) deliveries of goods and services within budget and/or standard costs. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
A Day In The Life Of Our Planner I:
- Procures materials components, equipment, supplies and services necessary for the efficient operation of the company
- Plan, schedule, and monitor goods to meet the production requirements of the company employing such techniques but not limited to Material Requirements Planning, Kanban, Blanket POs, and Reschedules
- Set-up and maintain material, supplier and planning system data in the MRP/ERP (NetSuite) system;
- Exercise a good working knowledge of goods, services, and sources of supply to manage inventory for production
- Create and manage daily/weekly Process Work Orders and SWOs
- Review Engineering and Document Change orders (ECOs, DCOs)
- Create and analyze daily, monthly and quarterly inventory reports
- Ensure BOM accuracy
- Process material transfer orders
- Perform regular internal demand intake meetings
- Determine material requirements from Engineering and production schedules and coordinate and ensure the efficient movement of materials through production cycle while minimizing/eliminating line down situations
- Work with receiving, finance and suppliers to reconcile discrepancies in receiving and invoicing and closing of material work orders.
- Ensure that the highest quality standards are maintained in all functions & responsibilities of the job as well as executed in a manner, which supports companies quality standards;
- Maintain Metrics
- Support EHS activities and initiatives
- Perform other duties/special projects as assigned.
About You:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or similar.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience. Material buying and planning in a manufacturing setting a plus.
- Previous experience in a Medical Device Manufacturing environment is an asset
- Experience with MRP / ERP systems
- Experience in supply chain management and inventory control
- Proficiency in MS Office products (especially Word, Excel, Visio and Project)
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
- Excellent oral and written communications skills; ability to communicate with technical and non-technical teams
- Ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with external partners
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter and be able to work under ambiguity
- Must be organized and able to balance multiple priorities appropriately
- Must be goal-focused and committed to completing tasks.
