What are the responsibilities and job description for the Daycare Assistant position at Noah's Ark Daycare?
· Work closely with the lead teacher in conducting daily duties such as preparing and serving meals, changing diapers, writing daily reports, recording attendance, engaging in play, assisting to put children to sleep, and creating a safe environment including behaviors
· Provide support for the lead teacher
· Monitoring and supervising the children constantly
· Assisting the lead teacher in maintaining a safe and positive environment
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents
· Alerting the lead teacher of emergencies
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with other center employees
· Preparing and serving meals and snacks
· Assist the lead teacher in maintaining a classroom which meets and/or exceeds the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) rules and regulations set forth for a License Exempt facility
· Assist in putting children to sleep
· Assess the parking lot and surrounding areas for safety concerns upon arrival
· Turn on lights and prepare the hallways and classrooms for students
· Unlock the playground fence and equipment for the day
· Prepare the sanitation area (bleach and water solution)
· Work with other opening staff to maintain ratio of children
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents
· Assist children in using the restroom and potty-training tasks
· Maintain an environment which meets and or exceeds the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) rules and regulations set forth for a License Exempt Facility
· Prepare Breakfast based on schedule and deliver to classrooms
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with other center employees
· Maintain records of food counts, including but not limited to temperatures and date checks
· Maintain storage of food and food products
· Alerting Director to food shortages, concerns or issues with the kitchen
· Assess the parking lot and surrounding areas for safety concerns before leaving
· Lock the playground fence and equipment for the night
· Empty all trash (teachers and assistants will empty their classroom trash) and take them to the dumpster
· Vacuum Hallways and Common Areas (teachers and assistants will vacuum their own classrooms)
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with other center employees
· Assist children in using the restroom and potty-training tasks
· Maintain an environment which meets and or exceeds the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) rules and regulations set forth for a License Exempt Facility
· Empty the Sanitation station for the night (bleach and water solution)
· Work with other closing staff to maintain ratio of children
