Position Summary
Members of the Student Leadership Team (SLT) serve a vital role in accomplishing the goals of Campus Ministries and Student Engagement (CMSE) within the student body at NGU. The SLT is comprised of Graduate Assistants (GAs), undergrad community leaders, and undergrad residential tech. Although SLT members have specialized responsibilities due to their position(s) within the SLT, all members share a set of general responsibilities. Team members are expected to live in accordance with a Christian code of conduct and to take a Christian discipleship orientated approach to their position at NGU. Further, team members must maintain a good standing with the University and a minimum of a 2.5 GPA. SLT members are the servant leaders of the student body. SLT members seek to maintain and improve the desired culture within the student body. SLT members are the hands of feet of CMSE in the student body. Above all else, SLT members are the servants of Christ for the general student body at NGU.
General RESPONSIBILITIES of CMSE GRADUATE Assistants:
- Attends and participates in all pre-semester training.
- Personally, always abides by the NGU Student Handbook and community standards.
- Regularly attends weekly GA meetings.
- Regularly assist in leading assigned undergraduate SLT members in both holistic development (Spiritual, emotional, physical, cognitive, professional).
- Regularly attends Chapel services and assists in the attendance operations.
- Seeks opportunities to improve the NGU community, especially through service, discipleship, and fun.
- Fulfils on-duty responsibilities when scheduled.
- Assists setting up and running CMSE event when scheduled.
- Assists in the enforcement of the community standards and submits incident reports to Student Accountability when made aware of a potential breach of standard.
- Stands ready to respond to non-normative/emergency needs on campus.
Responsibilities of Residential Services GA
- Assists the Coordinator of Residential Services in the daily operations of Residential Services.
- Completes CMSE front desk responsibilities when scheduled.
- Assists in the daily management of the housing process including the assignment and reassignment of current residents.
- Assists in training, leading, managing, and evaluating the Resident Hall Servant Leaders.
- Completes on-duty responsibilities when scheduled.
- Manages the on-duty phones, response, and follow-up for Residential Services.
- Assists in guiding Resident Hall Servant Leaders in addressing current needs in the student body. This will include conflict resolution and mediation processes.
- Seeks opportunities to invest in their assigned undergraduate SLT members through service, discipleship, and fun.
Responsibilities of CAmpus Life GA
- Assists the Coordinator of Student Activities in the daily operations of Student Engagement.
- Completes CMSE front desk responsibilities when scheduled.
- Assists in the daily planning, conducting, and evaluation of student events.
- Assists in training, leading, managing, and evaluating the Resident Hall Servant Leaders.
- Completes on-duty responsibilities when scheduled.
- Serves on-duty for specific campus life events by leading the setup, direction, and breakdown of the event.
- Assists in guiding Resident Hall Servant Leaders in living out a thriving community prioritizing light-heartedness and fun.
- Seeks opportunities to invest in their assigned undergraduate SLT members through service, discipleship, and fun.
Responsibilities of individual Services ga
- Assists in the daily operation of the Center for Student Success, the Office of Student Health, and the Office of Student Support and Accountability
- Assists the coordinators in each area including (but not limited to) tutoring programs, attendance tracking, student calling, Testing Center operations, First Year Experience, student health, and student outreach and intervention.
- Assists in the daily planning, conducting, and evaluation of campus events within their assigned area.
- Completes on-duty responsibilities when scheduled.
- Manages the on-duty phones, response, and follow-up for Residential Services.
- Assists in guiding Resident Hall Servant Leaders in planning and promoting educational outreach and enrichment opportunities.
- Seeks opportunities to invest in their assigned undergraduate SLT members through service, discipleship, and fun.
Responsibilities of student ministry GA
- Assists the assigned full-time Student Ministries staff member in the daily operations of Campus Ministries.
- Assists the Coordinators in each ministry area in accomplishing the specific goals of that area (ex. Curriculum development, discipleship training, etc.)
- Assists in developing small group curriculum and training.
- Assists in the planning, conducting, and evaluation of campus ministry events and activities.
- Completes on-duty responsibilities when scheduled.
- Assists in guiding Resident Hall Servant Leaders in becoming better and more effective disciple makers through encouragement, training, and equipping them with relevant resources.
- Seeks opportunities to invest in their assigned undergraduate SLT members through service, discipleship, and fun
Physical Requirements

- Mobility: Open files and operate office machines; move between departments and attend meetings across campus.
- Talking: Frequently convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Lifting, Pulling, Pushing: Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Cognitive/Emotional: Ability to critically think and concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in conditions 75 to 100% of the time.

Qualifications
- Professes evangelical Christian beliefs.
- Supports NGU’s mission statement and core values and holds a commitment to a Christian lifestyle and character in keeping with the biblical model.
- Affirms an understanding of and willingness not to teach contrary to, the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
- Affirms understanding of and willingness not to advocate contrary to the University's statement on Human Flourishing.
- Currently enrolled at NGU and in good standing with the University.
- Currently eligible to live in traditional on-campus housing (excluding married housing).
- Maintains a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
- Understands and complies with HIPAA and FERPA regulations.
- Integrates Biblical standards within all assigned responsibilities and approaches student engagement from a Christian, ministerial approach.
- Ability to develop and maintain healthy relationships with peers and their staff leadership.
- Desires to live to better the NGU community through Christian service and discipleship.
- Demonstrates a desire to seek excellence in all they do.
