Accompanist- Substitute

ACCOMPANIST - SUBSTITUTE $22.00/HOUR

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to the completion of a high school diploma.
• Must be an accomplished pianist.
• College work in the field of music preferred.
• College work in the field of education would be helpful.
• Experience as an accompanist preferred.
• Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.

REPORTS TO:                                                                     Vocal Music Coordinator and Music Instructor

JOB GOAL:                                                                          Provide keyboard accompaniment that will enhance the opportunity for vocal
music students to improve their vocal music performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide keyboard accompaniment for choral ensemble classes offered at the middle and high school.
• Prepare all music, including piano score, individual vocal parts and combined vocal parts prior to daily rehearsals.
• Accompany ensemble performances for concerts, festivals, contests, and clinics.
• Accompany solo and small ensemble groups for district and state contests.
• Prepare rehearsal tapes for students.
• Accompany rehearsals and performances for high school musicals, when needed.
• Assist vocal directors with clerical responsibilities such as paper work, filing, music library, etc.
• Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
• Adheres to good safety practices.
• Adheres to all district rules, regulations, and policies.
• Other duties as required or assigned.

CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:                         The work environment is consistent with typical office/school environment.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:                                           Salary and work calendar to be established by the Board Of Education. Benefits according to Board policies.
