What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder I / II / III position at Northern Air Systems Inc?
Tasks and Responsibilities: |
Sets up and operates electric and gas welding machines to weld metal parts according to work order, blueprint layouts and verbal instructions |
Regulates flow of gases for proper mixture |
Maintains recordkeeping of setting from precision tig control panels on power packs for repeat applications. |
Cleans parts to remove contamination before welding |
Sets up and operates all phases of welding applications using clamps, fixtures and torches, working to specified tolerances |
Performs grinding/testing duties (drain pans, tanks, etc.) |
Assembles assigned parts in accordance with production guidelines |
Moves material with appropriate equipment (forklift, hand truck) throughout the work area as needed |
Completes standard job sheets for each job |
Changes weld cups, electrodes and any other tooling to maintain quality and production standards |
Examines electrodes for sharpness and sharpen as needed |
Assists management recommending tooling needs |
Measures and sets up jobs according to blueprints as required |
Reports any discrepancies in material to management |
Notifies management of any equipment or area repairs needed |
Maintains tools, gauges and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner |
Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations |
Wears protective clothing and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines |
Ability to distinguish colors |
Ability to read and understand the English language |

Physical Demands |
