GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Sales Manager is responsible for increasing revenue and optimizing profitability by managing the sales of NorthGate solutions and services to new prospects and current customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain a strong prospect pipeline through strategic research, networking, and proactive outreach, including cold calling.
- Convert prospects into long-term customers and enthusiastic brand advocates for NorthGate.
- Support ongoing sales objectives of increasing market share, optimizing profitability, and building the positive branding of NorthGate as a leading Engineered Packaging Supplier
- Maintain and expand relationships with assigned customer accounts to drive retention and growth.
- Oversee customer contracts and manage day-to-day relationships with key account stakeholders.
- Prepare presentations, quotations, cost breakdowns
- Create Sales Reports, Analyze Data, Display Trends, and create Executive Summaries using data pulls from ERP System
- Determine and regularly communicate to the Business Development Team: latest prospect/customer needs, industry trends and competitive information
- Routinely and effectively negotiate price and terms of transactions between NorthGate and its customers
- Display attitude of deep commitment to win over the customer by having the sincere desire to offer value-added solutions
- Up to 20% overnight travel annually (primarily domestic, with potential international travel based on business needs).
SKILLS AND JOB EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in packaging sales, supply chain services sales, or program management
- Demonstrated Experience in reviewing, downloading, and manipulating data from Enterprise Resource Planning Software (example: Microsoft Dynamics or Microsoft Great Plains)

- Capable of completing Business Case Analysis.
- Demonstrated successful performance with independent problem solving and presentations.
- Demonstrated proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database applications.
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing and manipulating large data sets in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management Software.
- Experience with Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) or a similar Business Management System.
- Experience in building corporate social media content (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Packaging Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in Business Administration, Package Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field, or combination of equivalent education and work experience. On-the-Job Training Required
