What are the responsibilities and job description for the Calibration Technician - Electronics position at Northstar Calibration, Inc.?
We are seeking an individual who desires a career in gage calibration. The ideal candidate would be military PMEL trained and have at least 3 years military calibration lab experience, or 5 years of commercial calibration lab experience.
We desire someone with a strong electronics background and training, and familiarity with electrical instruments. We may consider training a strong electronics technician with limited calibration experience to fill this.
Northstar Calibration, Inc. is an ISO 17025 accredited commercial calibration laboratory, located in Owatonna, MN. We are growing and we need additional help to serve our customers. Our people contribute directly to satisfying our customers and making our business successful. Work is performed in our accredited laboratory in Owatonna, as well as on-site at our customers' manufacturing locations throughout southern Minnesota and the upper Midwest.
Key Responsibilities: The Calibration Technician provides gage calibration, repair, & servicing on our customers' gaging and measuring devices, including dimensional, electronic, torque, force, pressure, mass, and hard gaging. Work includes repairing of dimensional, mechanical, and/or electronic instruments, as well as on-site field service requiring some travel.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
1. Formal calibration training, PMEL preferred; and have strong electronics aptitude. Hands-on calibration experience, such as calibrations of O-scopes, HiPot, counters, power supplies, meters, thermocouples, etc.
2. The preferred candidate would also have some mechanical aptitude and capabilities, including torque, pressure, force, mass and scales, and dimensional.
3. Attention to detail and accuracy of work.
4. Communication, computer, interaction, planning, & organizing skills.
5. Physical abilities to lift, stand/maneuver, take readings, etc, related to conducting calibration & repair activities, both in the lab and on-site in the field.
6. ASQ Certified Calibration Technician certificate. (desired)
