What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optical Assistant position at Northwest Eye Clinic?
Northwest Eye has a current opening for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Optical Assistant in Golden Valley. With five locations throughout the Twin Cities metro area, Northwest Eye is among the largest specialty eye care providers in the Midwest. Our environment is both dynamic and adaptable! SUMMARY
This individual will initiate, coordinate, and execute administrative duties to support the Optical Department. Responsible for providing patient care and outstanding customer service in alignment with the overall strategies, objectives and mission of the organization.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Data entry duties including processing contact lens orders and eyeglass orders.
- Helping patients with purchasing Dry Eye products.
- Call patients to let them know their eyeglasses are ready for pickup.
- Answer phones and assist patients in answer any questions they may have.
- Back up Opticians with minor adjustments, help patients choose a frame, and dispenses.
- Tag new frame inventory.
- Other administrative duties as assigned including scanning, emailing, and sending through the mail.
- Travel to other offices is required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Detail-oriented and efficient data entry skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
- Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
- Interpret and dispense optical prescriptions
- Lensometry knowledge preferred
- Basic bookkeeping skills
EXPERIENCE
- One year related administrative experience or customer service experience.
- Optical or Medical experience essential but not required.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSE
- None required
