Job Summary:
The Financial Controller is responsible for the comprehensive oversight of financial activities within the organization. This person will be an officer of the company. The role is pivotal in ensuring the effective implementation of internal controls, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. The Financial Controller will work closely with both regional and international finance teams, contributing to the financial strategy and operational success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting:
· One direct report
· Oversee and manage all accounting and financial operations for the manufacturing site.
· Monitor financial performance by tracking variances from budgets, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights.
· Ensure compliance with company financial policies, GAAP, IFRS, and relevant regulations.
· Prepare and present financial reports to the senior management team, summarizing financial performance, forecasts, and key metrics.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
· Lead the preparation of the annual budget, including forecasting financial performance, setting targets, and monitoring progress.
· Analyze budget variances, investigate discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
· Implement and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports.
Human Resources & Administration:
· Manage the human resource administration functions related to finance, including payroll, benefits administration, and employee relations within the finance department.
· Oversee the financial aspects of company insurance policies and employee benefits programs.
Treasury & Banking:
· Manage relationships with regional banking partners and oversee treasury functions, including cash management, banking selection, and financial risk management.
· Serve as the Regional Treasury Coordinator, ensuring optimal liquidity and investment strategies.
Legal & Compliance:
· Act as the Company Legal Financial Secretary, ensuring all statutory filings and corporate governance requirements are met.
· Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and legal advisors to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Systems Management:
· Act as the Key User for regional financial ERP systems, including JD Edwards and MicroStrategy BI, ensuring data integrity, system efficiency, and accurate reporting.

· Service Providers (Banks, External Financial Auditors, Benefits Providers, Payroll Service Providers, Tax Authorities, Insurance Providers)
Skills & Knowledge Required:
Accounting & Financial Expertise:
· In-depth knowledge of accounting and controlling systems, financial principles, and practices.
· Expertise in US federal and state tax regulations and compliance.
· Strong understanding of credit management and risk assessment.
Technical Proficiency:
· Advanced proficiency in financial systems (E1, BI) and the ability to leverage data for decision-making.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
· Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide strategic recommendations.
Communication & Leadership:
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
· Proven leadership in managing teams and cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. An MBA or CPA certification is highly desirable.
Experience:
· A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, financial control, and budgeting, with a significant portion of that in an international business environment.
· Demonstrated experience in managing financial operations within a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred.
· International Exposure
· Experience in international finance, including dealing with multi-currency environments, cross-border financial regulations, and international tax issues.
