NRE A TRM Equity Company is searching for Quality Control Specialist to work in our Mt. Vernon location!
The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for providing secondary, re-active, supporting role to the Quality Assurance department. The specialist is to understand the Association of American Railroads (AAR) M-1003 Section J quality system standards, including a thorough understanding of the TRM NRE Corporate Quality Manual and Procedures (from which all in-house quality control activities originate), and a familiarity with measurement equipment and their practical application and use.
Job Responsibilities/Tasks:
- Monitor and identify product defects to ensure that all requirements of the quality plan, instituted by Quality Assurance, are being met during manufacturing.
- Adhere to QA specified inspection, rejection and acceptance criteria.
- Conduct daily inspection activities.
- Manage the in-coming inspection program.
- Ensure purchased product meets requirements.
- Work with the Quality Supplier Specialist to handle First Article Inspection as required.
- Develop and install process application specific measuring devices, as required.
- Submit to QA, newly acquired or installed equipment information requiring calibration.
- Perform or (verify at production) routine testing to measure and determine the quality level of a product.
- Create, issue, and maintain associated logs, records, reports, and collected data.
- Control the non-conforming material and help gather information to complete corrective action with Quality Supplier Specialist.
- Ensure that Quality is built into the product and that it meets customer requirements.
- Verify that finished goods are acceptable, complete and correct to prior shipment.
- Ability to climb on and around locomotives for inspection purposes during in-bound, in-process and finals.
Work Environment:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED – associate’s degree and/or experience in the manufacturing industry working with Heavy Equipment.
- Ability to follow detailed instruction as well as the ability to follow specifications, blueprints and industry standards preferred.
- Has strong background in Math.
- Must be organized and detail oriented.
- Possess strong time management skills.
- Have computer skills with the ability to use Word, Excel, Access, and create reports, spreadsheets.
- Employee will be required to attend training and become an AAR certified internal auditor and assist with external and internal audits.
Work Environment:
- Approximately 30% of the work duties are completed in an office setting and the remaining 70% are completed in production and warehouse areas.

Pay: $37,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
