Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced bilingual electrical/mechanical journeyman/maintenance technician to join a team responsible for keeping the facility operating and repairing any problems that are discovered before they have a chance to worsen. The candidate must be capable of doing standard mill repairs, including changing and aligning sprockets, belts, and pulleys, repairing chains and bearings, and other duties listed below.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a journeyman or maintenance mechanic
- Fabrications – Capable of fabricating from drawings and sketches and rebuilding existing parts. Good welding and cutting skills.
- Basic understanding of sawmill manufacturing operation or capable of learning quickly
- Able to follow the NWH attendance policy and other company policies.
- Capable of doing required documentation legibly, e.g., downtime reports; read, understand, and know the location of machine manuals.
- The willingness to ask questions if not you do not understand a process or procedure
- Able to work as a team, get along with other team members, give and take advice, and learn from leadership and senior team members. Good team attitude.
- Basic working knowledge of 220v and 480v electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulics and machine mechanics.
- Know how to use small hand tools.
- Must have a good safety record and a positive attitude.
