Job Opportunity: Estimator & Project Management Support – New Construction Team

O’Leary Asphalt Inc., a leading family-owned commercial asphalt paving company with over 30 years of industry experience, is seeking an energetic, dependable, detail-oriented individual to join our New Construction Estimating Team. This role involves both estimating and project management support, working closely with the Preconstruction Manager to ensure the success of our projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage databases to track projects from initial leads through final invoicing and collections.
- Review project plans and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Perform materials takeoffs to quantify required materials for projects.
- Contact subcontractors and suppliers for pricing and product details.
- Design and compile presentations using Adobe Acrobat and PowerPoint for project proposals.
- Collaborate with project managers to negotiate contracts and ensure project success.
- Enter new job information into the scheduling system and upload all relevant project documentation.
- Conduct site visits as necessary to assess progress and address any potential issues.
- Respond to emails and phone calls on behalf of the Preconstruction Manager.
- Provide ongoing support to project management throughout the construction process.
- Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, construction management, or a related field.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to work effectively with contractors and project managers.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Quick learner with the ability to multitask and stay on track.
- Proficiency in Adobe, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, cross-functional departments, and external partners.
- Familiarity with cost control and budgeting principles.
