What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infection Preventionist RN position at Oak Hills Living Center?
Introduction:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Infection Preventionist Registered Nurse to join our team and provide high-quality care to our patients. The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop, coordinate and direct the facility infection prevention and control program and its activities in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern such programs. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, implement, evaluate and oversee the infection prevention and control program in accordance with current regulations and guidelines governing skilled nursing facilities.
- Ensure that all nursing services personnel follow established infection prevention and control practices and aseptic techniques when caring for residents.
- Establish, implement and monitor data collection tools for process and outcome surveillance.
- Communicate with patients and families to provide education
- Conduct special investigations pertaining to new or significant trends in infections or communicable diseases
- Other duties as assigned
Shift Requirements:
- 3-4 days per week
- Part of the RN On Call Rotation, on call every 7th weekend.
